He added that there had also been "a couple" of other incidents of attempted theft in the area recently.

Although they were kept behind a locked gate the suspect gained access while a neighbour's gate was unlocked as it was broken.

Both bikes had secured padlocks but weren't securely attached to anything at the time of theft and attempted theft.

The stolen bike is a Giant Roam model predominantly grey with red and white accents.

The word "Giant" is prominently displayed in large white letters on the bike's downtube. The model name "Roam" also appears in red on the top tube of the frame.

It also has a standard/Medium hybrid frame size and is fitted with medium-thick tires along with hydraulic disc brakes on both front and rear wheels.

The bike also has a front suspension fork along with black mudguards which are installed on both the front and rear wheels.

In a statement Suffolk Constabulary confirmed that the theft had been reported.
