A milkshake shop in Ipswich has announced it will be moving to a bigger premises when it reopens in the new year.

Shakeaway, located in the town's Buttermarket street, closed its doors for the year on Friday, November 8, with workers seen stripping the outside and inside of the building.

A notice was displayed in the window, stating: "Dear customer, we are sad to say that this store is now closed.

"We are relocating to a bigger store in the near future.

"We wish you and your families a fantastic Christmas and we will see you in the new year."

The business also stated that it would be announcing its new location on its Facebook account nearer to the time it is due to reopen.

A reopening date is yet to be announced, however.

Last year, the milkshake chain underwent a refurbishment and repairs inside the shop.

The nearest Shakeaway to Ipswich is now located in Lakeside.
