A new shawarma takeaway and restaurant has opened its doors in Ipswich town centre.

Daily Shawarma, set up in the former Lewis Hair Salon on the corner of Dogs Head Street and Lower Brook Street, has opened.

The unit has been empty since the previous occupiers moved out in February after 20 years in the building.

Inside the new restaurant there is enough seating for 24 people across eight tables, with a counter for people to buy food from.

The new restaurant is open from 9am until 11pm every day bar Sunday, when it will close at 8pm.

Daily Shawarma is the latest restaurant/takeaway to open in Dogs Head Street, joining fellow eateries Kaspa's Desserts, Best Kebab Centre, The Plough and Wake Up Coffee.

Nearby, chicken chain Pepe's Piri Piri will open in the Emmaus Suffolk Homeware Store, also in Dogs Head Street, following the approval for the space to be converted in to a restaurant.
