An Ipswich building firm is supporting a mother's Christmas toy appeal in memory of her late daughter.
Since 2021, SEH French has been helping Danielle Tucker with her annual collection for Great Ormond Street Hospital by gathering donations at their White House Road office.
This initiative was inspired by the story of Danielle's daughter Eva, who was a patient at the hospital in 2017 before her tragic passing.
Danielle, who founded the Eva Tucker Brighter Future Fund in 2018, said: “We spent time at the hospital over the Christmas period and experienced the magic and smiles on everyone’s faces when people came to donate presents.
“It was such a lovely and uplifting feeling that someone from outside of the hospital cared enough to do it.
"It isn’t just presents your giving, it’s hope and light for people during such a hard time."
The hospital is looking for donations of dolls' houses, card games, figurines, and plastic animals.
Other items such as blankets, accessories, books, and night lights are also welcome.
However, second-hand donations cannot be accepted due to hospital policy.
Heather Bryan, bid writer at SEH French, said: “Ever since we heard of Eva’s story, we have been in awe of Danielle’s strength and the way she rallies our county to support the children at this special time of year.
"We want to step up our support and make this the biggest drive ever."
Donations can be dropped off at SEH French’s office at 30 White House Road before Saturday, December 7.
Monetary contributions can also be made to this year’s appeal and the Eva Tucker Brighter Future Fund at justgiving.com.
Danielle added: “I’ve always been so overwhelmed by how generous everyone has been – people who don’t know us making such generous donations.
"I am so grateful to our supporters for their generosity year-on-year."
