From live scare attractions to pumpkin patches, Horrible Histories Halloween tours to Zombie Fests, spooky stories in haunted castles to maize mazes filled with creepy surprises, there are plenty of ways to have a fangtastic time in Suffolk this October. Here are 10 of the best.
Ten of the best Halloween events in Suffolk:
1) What? Scaresville Haunted Village.
Where? Kentwell Hall, Long Melford, just off the A134 between Bury St Edmunds ad Sudbury on the Suffolk/Essex border.
When? From October 3 to November 3.
Who is it suitable for? This attraction is not for the faint-hearted, the squeamish, the frail or those who are pregnant. Children aged over 14 (children aged 14 to 18 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 21) can attend.
What is it? Entering in groups, expect an hour of thrills and spills, scares and dares as you cross to the other side and traverse the woods, buildings, and parkland of the Haunted Village. Scaresville residents and unsettling experiences might be encountered anywhere, at any time en route.
New this year? In the Unfairground you'll find a new Witchcraft-themed rapid escape room. You have five minutes to beat the clock and escape being cursed…Pre-book when you buy tickets.
How much? Ticket prices vary based on when you attend, tickets from £17.95 per person, the Escape Room is £20 for a group ticket for up to six people.

2) What? Horrible History Halloween Tour.
Where? Meet at Ipswich Tourist Information Centre, St Stephen's Church, St Stephen's Lane, Ipswich.
When? October 31, 6pm,
Who is it suitable for? Ideal for children aged eight to 12 and their parents. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
What is it? Join the Ipswich Tour Guides Association on a 90-minute evening walk of ghastly stories of dreadful diseases, foul stinks, overflowing graveyards, murder, execution, ghosts and witchcraft.

3) What? Zombie Fest 4
Where? Mildenhall Stadium, Haylands Grove, West Row, Suffolk.
When? October 27 from 6pm to 6am.
Who is it suitable for? Adults only.
What is it? Zombie Fest 4 is a 12-hour music and Halloween experience boasting 10 arenas and more than 100 acts with the aim of giving revellers a horrifyingly good night. There's a 30-piece theatrical circus, walkabout entertainment and horror shows.
Headlining this year's event are DJs Chase and Status, joined by other big names such as Jaguar Skills, Judge Jules, DJ Luck, MC Neat and Ratpack.
How much? Tickets are available now and prices start at £40 for general admission and £60 for VIP packages.

4) What? Undley Pumpkin Patch and Maize Maze.
Where? Undley Road, Beck Row, Suffolk.
When? From October 6 at weekends and half term.
Who is it suitable for? All ages.
What is it? You can pick a pumpkin in the Undley 50 acre Pumpkin Patch (there are 20 different varieties to choose from!) along with squashes and gourds. There are two huge inflatables, a farm-inspired assault course, the famous Maize Maze, donkey rides, a stamp trail, straw bale climbing, face painting, food and drink and lots more.
New this year? Circus and storytelling.
How much? Entry to the site is free but some attractions cost from £2, pumpkin prices start from £1 to £6.

5) What? Night of the Macabre Halloween Steampunk Festival.
Where? Landguard Fort, Felixstowe.
When? Sat 27th October 2018
Who is it suitable for? By day it will be family-friendly with lots of food, market stalls and music but by night, you can explore the fort (if you dare) where steampunk scarers, spooky lighting and special effects will combine to scare the life out of you. There will also be lots of fabulous food and a cabaret show with a Halloween twist. Night visitors must be over the age of 14 and those under 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

6) What? Spooky Stories at Framlingham Castle.
Where? Framlngham Castle, Church Street, Framlingham.
When? Monday October 22 to Sunday October 28, 11am to 4pm.
Who is it suitable for? Families.
What is it? Grabyour cloaks and steady your nerves as you come face to face with the dark side of children's tales. Chilling storytellers reveal the terrifying truth behind the bedtime fairytales you've grown to love. Show off your spooktacular costumes and take part in a fancy dress competition.
How much? Free to English Heritage members, adults £9.50, children aged five to 17 £5.70, concessions £8.60, family ticket £24.70.Tickets include access to the event and the site and can be purchased on the day.

7) What? Scaretacular Southwold Maize Maze
Where? Old Hall Farm, Halesworth Road, Reydon, Southwold.
When? October 20 to 28, 10am to 6pm.
Who is it suitable for? Families.
What is it? The main maize maze becomes a hiding place for 10 spooky but cute characters who children can find to win a prize. There are ghoulish pedal go-karts, a fortune teller witch at her cauldron, a fancy dress parade every day at 2pm and face painting.
How much? Children and adults' tickets are £7.50, discounts are available online and there are family tickets on sale. Children under three and wheelchair users are admitted for free. Tickets include all Halloween activities apart from pumpkin carving and face painting.

8) What? EACH Halloween Glow Walk.
Where? Lowestoft Seafront, 5.30pm.
When? October 27.
Who is it suitable for? Families.
What is it? The EACH Glow Walks (the Felixstowe walk is already fully-booked) are Halloween-themed two-mile sponsored walks to raise funds for charity EACH. Starting and finishing at Claremont Pier, the cost is £7 per child, which includes special light-up head boppers, face painting, a medal, hot chocolate, and plenty of entertainment and surprises along the way! Fancy dress is optional and prizes will be awarded to the best dressed walker.

9) What? Murder at the Gin Parlour.
Where? Arlingtons, Museum Street, Ipswich.
When? October 27, 7pm.
Who is it suitable for? Adults.
What is it? A glamorous 1920's Murder Mystery Supper Club.There'll be decadence in the Dining Room with action and intrigue, music, food, mystery and cabaret. Enjoy a four-course feast and revelry thanks to Frolics and Bangs.
How much? Early bird tickets have sold out but there are tickets for £50 available.

10) What: Night of the Skating Dead
Where: Curvemotion, Bury St Edmunds, Lark Valley Business Park, Lamdin Road, Bury St Edmunds.
When? October 26, 7pm to 11pm.
Who is it suitable for? Adults only.
What is it? The skating dead have risen to take over Curvemotion for a Halloween thriller which will see the best-dressed guests given prizes, themed skate games, roller skating to a soundtrack of Halloween hits, an interactive light show, refreshments and a licensed bar. Booking is advised.
How much? Tickets are £7.50, which includes skate hire.
